The AYO Bunch: Virtual Life As We Know It

April 28, 2020

AYO has successfully reached week #6 of functioning in a virtual capacity, and we're proud to say that we are still actively serving our community, families and students! The team facilitates daily check-in's via Zoom Conference Call and we've noticed how our small, but mighty team often looks like the Brady Bunch sitcom, sitting in our little boxes! :)

We've adapted all of our in-house programming to still serve students virtually. Enrollment has become digitized, so our survey can be taken from any smartphone or computer. This is HUGE for our program, and we are really excited to continue reaching students during these times of uncertainty.

Just so you know, students are able to connect with one-on-one Homework Help volunteers to get support for their virtual learning-- please contact SegenTekle@aumhc.org to get started.

Male Group Mentoring starts a new cohort on Thursday, April 30th! Please contact CurtisRedd@aumhc.org or RafaelRivas@aumhc.org to get started.

Our community-based one to one mentor program is still actively enrolling as well! If you'd like to learn about getting a trusted adult mentor for a youth that you know, please contact LauraMoore@aumhc.org.

Besides in-house programming, we are still referring students to virtual offering hosted by the community like ISAE classes, Conflict Center conflict resolution program and Art from Ashes Phoenix Rising program. Please contact any of the above to learn more information of how to get your student enrolled or registered for any of these programs. We hope you all are well and we look forward to continuing support for our community!
