AYO's Annual Volunteer Recognition Event

April 07, 2015

AYO's volunteers have allowed us to serve 6,000 youth in the past six years offering each youth individualized support.  Volunteers meet one-on-one with youth serving as mentors and tutors, as well as helping in the office with program development and connecting with our clients.  On Wednesday April 1st, in honor of National Volunteer Recognition Month, we celebrated the accomplishments and impacts our volunteers have on the Aurora community.  Thirty-five volunteers and friends were in attendance at Joe's Crab Shack to hear several volunteers share what they do for AYO and the successes they have had.  Current volunteers brought friends who were interested in signing up to mentor.  That evening eight people scheduled interviews to start the process of becoming a mentor.  If you would like to take the step to become a volunteer please contact AYO at ayo@aumhc.org or 303-617-2660 for more information.  To see more pictures, follow our Facebook page.
